Mission Statement

Why do we offer the NoxymoCore framework?

In the past years we provided many different items of code to the community using e.g. the website of wocode.com (look out for all those marked with an XXL). wocode.com is pretty straight forward in what it provides to others (exchange of knowledge through code). It's by far one of the favourite sites if you search for some real code basically because it is so easy to use. You do not have to connect to some CVS-system or any other fuzz to get what you want. You can see a description and often a little documentation. Nice. We love that site and we will continue to give away knowledge to share the power.

Since 2001 we spent much time on findig out how to accomplish better WebObjects development and coding. We did several little projects and one midrange project (e.g. EverLearn) using WO to solve problems. Over time we always tried to improve development process cycles. This lead us to design reusable components whenever possible. These efforts have now culminated in products we want to offer on these pages. We hope some of these products will help you having a much easier time than we had. Especially the NoxymoCore Framework is a first try to pass away this knowledge and wisdom from experience in a smart powerpackage. Because all this means very much and very hard work (testing & debugging, quality assurance, documentation, examplecode, customer service) we cannot give this away for free or make it open source. Though we can talk about non-exclusive sourcecode if you are willing to pay for it. So nothing is impossible, but hard work cannot be done for free.

Power to the WebObjects Developers of the world!

Using a framework where you build upon, is like stepping on the shoulders of your friends to climb higher. It saves you time and effort and gives you a better view and more time for new challenges. In one word it pays off! Because we know how neat WebObjects is but at the same time how complex it can be to learn all the tricks of WebObjects (actually we have perhaps learned roughly 40% of it until now) we love to make peoples lives easier. You save yourself a lot of head-scratching and a lot of time (therefore money) building upon readymade-bricks for your house of software-development. If you think about if it is worth spending money on this, then think about what it will cost you to spend money for a training and the time to read and figure it out by yourself. And even then there is no guarantee it willturnout well for you. So think about investing rather than spending money.

Joining forces with opensource power of WONDER

You might ask yourself perhaps "What makes this framework different from e.g. WebObjects Nodes for Distributing E-Resources (WONDER) which additionally is all FOR FREE?". This question is going in the wrong direction. NoxymoCore does not want to compete but complement frameworks like e.g. WONDER. Project WONDER is a very special and powerful movement of bright heads. WONDER's strengths are found clearly on the EOF-side of WebObjects development. This means for things which have to do with database-access, managing EditingContexts via Enterprise Objects Framework (EOF) and so on WONDER has much to offer. NoxymoCore restricts itself mostly to the Graphical Userinterface (GUI) elements/components for WebObjects (one exception is the AutoUpdate-mechanism for the database). NoxymoCore and WONDER are complementing each other. The future development path of the NoxymoCore framework will reflect these strengths of WONDER even more and concentrate on a perfect complementation. You are welcome and at the same time invited to drive this process by your ideas.
